Getting into photography

So my wife wanted a nice camera. Something to take good portraits of the baby and to take good outdoor shots. Something much nicer than your average point and click digital camera you get for $100 at Wal-mart. We ended up with a Nikon D90. Let's just say it cost waaaayyy more than $100.

I'm learning to take pictures with it also. (I'm the tech minded one of the family so my job is to learn how it works and then teach her! LOL) Here are a few of the shots I've taken with it so far.

The first is a landscape kind of shot taken over this past weekend of the hill out past our house. You can see the old barn where we used to shoot archery last year before it got cold.

The next is an obligatory cute shot of Gwen enjoying a Keebler Fudge Stick.
And these last two are my favorites so far just because they came out really well IMHO. They are two very small flowers that are starting to bloom in our yard. One is in a flower bed my wife loves and the other is just growing randomly in another part of the yard. I have no idea what kind of flowers they are.

If any of my photography buff friends want to know more about the pictures, I can probably find out for you. But right now I can't figure out how to get the lens and other camera info off the picture to post. I'm a newb.

  1. I believe you can see all that info (EXIF data) once they've been uploaded to Flick'r, if you have an account there....

Nice pics! I love the baby one best, of course, since I'm a mom. : )

  2. I do have a Flickr account but I just uploaded the pics straight to the blog this time. I think there is a way to strip it out and post it here, just not sure how to do it yet.

I also have a problem with Flickr and Photobucket and the like from work. They are blocked so it's kind of a pain.
