What to do? What to say?

So I've decided to start a blog. My other pals have all been doing it for sometime. Me though, I'm just lazy when it comes to doing much more than a Twitter update here and there. So I doubt this blog will ever get very large.

So who the heck am I? Well my name is Tim, but most folks call me.....Tim.


I am in my late 30's pushing four oh. I should probably lose a few pounds since I am on the over side of 200 these days and that just feels bloated to me. I am a newish dad. My daughter is 7 months old currently and absolutely the cutest girl of all time bar none. My wife and I tried for over 6 years before we finally got pregnant. So we're pretty happy about being parents.

I participate in the Society for Creative Anachronism which is also where I met my wife. It's a medieval recreation group and I am one of the folks who puts on fairly realistic armor and then goes and beats the snot out of my buddies with a big honkin' stick. :D

I have long hair because I look even dumber with short hair and I still dream of being a rockstar. Although these days I'm limited to recording stuff on the computer once in awhile. It's been a loooong time since I was in a band. I play guitar, bass and synth. I sing into a mic, but therein the relation to being a singer ends! Drums I program via MIDI. I may learn to play drums for real someday, but right now I don't even have room for kit.

Politically, I lean left. Religously, I lean away towards atheism. I've become a big fan of both Tim Minchin and Richard Dawkins. One is hilarious and the other is just brilliant and very scathing to read.

I'm not a sports fan. I like sci-fi such as BSG, Babylon 5, Star Trek (except for Voyager, BLECH!!), Stargate, etc. I also like to watch pro-wrestling (but surprisingly, I have a fairly high IQ!!)

Topics may cover just about anything that strikes me as noteworthy or gets me fired up in some way. Or I may just ramble on for a bit from time to time.
